Have you ever felt like you were different from the majority of people around you? I did… well in all honesty… still do, and I’ve learned that that’s okay. I even remember that paperback book my mom owned in the ‘70s titled “I’m Okay, You’re Okay” - haha remember?
I reflect on how while growing up, if you were different in school, you were targeted by the bullies… unless you made them laugh, which I didn’t, so, yeah.
Then, as an adult, it was the opposite; important to differentiate yourself from the herd (as it were), to succeed where others could not… winner takes all… doggy doggy world (“dog eat dog world”, but I prefer the former because it makes me laugh).
But, and it’s a very big but… you can’t be too different, because if you are, then they won’t relate to you, they won’t respect you, they won’t trust you, and they won’t hire you. Somewhere in the middle, yeah, somewhere.
This lyric, written by the famous published author, Paul Norman Tapp, spoke to me. Between the lines, I could relate. We collaborated on this song. I wrote the music, arranged for orchestra, performed every instrument (with my Mac’s help), and recorded it in my studio seen here… https://www.zanekuchera.com/studio
I hope you like it and the free video clips I attached to it… it felt right… enjoy it, my fellow traveler: https://www.zanekuchera.com/archives/4826
