I was so fortunate to meet Elaine back when Covid had just hit and we were in heavy isolation. She, https://ElaineMataJones.com , saw my post on our shared Boston Cabaret Performers group where I was looking for writing collaborators and advertising my audio engineering skills. Elaine cold-called me looking for advise. We fast became friends.
One thing led to another and soon I was teaching her music theory and audio engineering techniques. Elaine is one smart cookie, and she ate it up as quickly as I could (cook it?) ha! With her own project recording studio in her home, she brilliantly arranged, performed, and recorded the background vocals on one of my first collaborations with a fellow songwriter from the U.K., called “Lines By Default”: https://song.link/RFqZwDGjK4dPR
Elaine, being an R&B singer with tendencies to go all “Aretha Franklin on your a**” haha… she is also an Italy-trained opera singer (I know, right!) and has a very deep and sultry register (Motown missed out on this treasure). Also a lyric writer, I asked Elaine to write new lyrics to a holiday song whose existing lyrics couldn’t be used. Here is that result, including this new music video (which is AI generated so don’t pay any mind to the number of appendages and eye balls haha).
